Leading with Passion and Developing the Next Generation of Talent
Leader in Focus
Libby Hall, Executive Vice President of Public Affairs
In 2014, Libby joined Unearth as a Digital Producer. Within eight years, she received three promotions, propelling her to Executive Vice President of Public Affairs, where she spearheads building new client relationships, offering high-level innovative digital strategy, and implementing structures to help her team work efficiently. Libby’s unwavering drive to empower clients, colleagues, and the next generation to grow, succeed, and win was recently recognized as she received the Sacramento Business Journal’s 2024 40 under 40 award.
Under Libby’s leadership, she empowers her team to reach new heights and live Unearth’s core values — put in More Reps, have Fire in the Belly, and always be Out in Front. Of the three core values, Libby lives the Fire in the Belly value most, with her drive for constant improvement, learning, and upskilling. In 2021, she obtained the Stanford University Graduate School of Business LEAD Professional Certificate, which helps develop influential leaders.
Libby’s desire to do better today than yesterday is contagious. During her ten years at Unearth, Libby has mentored dozens of interns and entry-level employees, many of whom have received more than five promotions and made working at Unearth a defining moment in their careers.
What excites Libby most about working at Unearth is discovering new ways to use AI to develop cutting-edge digital technology for public affairs. Organizing frequent brainstorming sessions with her team offers everyone a hands-on role in creating the products that shape public affairs campaigns.
Libby’s passion for helping others grow in their personal and professional roles extends beyond the walls of Unearth’s Sacramento office. She is involved with Girls on the Run of Greater Sacramento, a local nonprofit focused on helping girls build their confidence, kindness, and decision-making skills. As the Marketing Chair, she organized the most successful Big Day of Giving in 2024, raising more than $40,000 for scholarships. Libby is also an active member of She Shares, a program featuring trailblazing women leaders and professional mentorship programs for young women.
“Her guidance, patience, and belief in my potential have been instrumental in my growth as a communications professional. Libby didn’t just help me develop my skills; she empowered me to confidently take on new challenges, while also helping me grow my network within the Capitol region of professionals,” shared Greta Serrin, Libby’s She Shares mentee and Communications Director at the California Manufacturers & Technology Association.
With unparalleled business growth, successful product launches, and transformative client results under her belt, Libby continues to push Unearth to greater heights. Most recently, Libby oversaw the rebrand and launch of Unearth’s Atlas Influence Targeting subsidiary. She leads digital strategy for many high-stakes statewide and national public affairs campaigns and initiatives with clients like California Business Roundtable and Leading Builders of America.
“When it comes to digital advertising, there is no one I trust more to take on high-stakes campaigns than Libby and her team. Libby’s ability to always think one step ahead and contribute impactful digital strategy sets her apart from others in the industry,” said Kelly Calkin, Partner, I Street Public Affairs.
“In public affairs, we are often tasked with overcoming the impossible, working under tight deadlines, and staying one step ahead of the opposition. When Libby is on my team, I know I can depend on her to get things done on deadlines no one else can. I also know our campaign will utilize innovative digital advertising solutions, reach the right people at the right time, run smoothly, and win,” said Amy Thoma Tan, Managing Partner, Cobalt Public Affairs.
When Libby isn’t helping public affairs clients achieve their digital advertising goals, mentoring colleagues and the next generation of young women, or running, she’s listening to Taylor Swift, hanging out with her husband and their cats, or planning her next vacation.
